Co-chairs of the PSC’s Anti-Racism Committee resign

The three co-chairs of the PSC’s Anti-Racism Committee resigned a couple of weeks ago, citing a lack of support from union leadership for the work they were trying to do. You can read their letters of resignation here.

Our union is certainly far from perfect, and the PSC does not sit outside the structural inequality and oppression that pervades our society more broadly. We believe, however, that this is not a reason to abstain from union organizing. On the contrary, it should motivate us all to work towards transforming the PSC into the union we want it to be, a militant, rank-and-file led union that stands up against racism, sexism, anti-LGBTQ discrimination, xenophobia, and all forms of injustice. Remember, we are the union, all of us. So let’s stand with the oppressed, and let’s all support the former members of the Anti-Racism Committee as they continue to do important work.
