University of Michigan calls the police on striking grad student workers!

Thursday evening, 4/21, University of Michigan president Santa Ono called the police on graduate student workers who were protesting in front of his SUV. Two grad students were detained briefly before being released.

You can donate to their strike fund here (especially important as the University has announced plans to withhold grad students’ April paychecks). We’ve seen similar moves recently by Temple’s administrators. Grad students there were not intimidated. They stood together and won. We are sure our UMich comrades will be victorious as well!

Shame on university administrators who prioritize funding campus police over paying workers a living wage and attempt to use state and private police violence to intimidate employees. Solidarity to all striking workers!
