Composition teachers at CCNY take direct action!

Last week, administrators at the City College of New York announced that they would be changing composition from a 4-credit to 3-credit class. This would effectively mean a 20% pay cut for adjuncts and a 30% workload increase for lecturers. Comp. teachers and PSC union members from around CUNY rallied quickly to oppose these changes. On Tuesday, they organized a grade-in protest. The fight is ongoing. Let’s support our comrades at CCNY and reject the austerity measures their management is trying to impose. We know that these cuts will not stop at CCNY. CUNY is being defunded, students are being charged higher and higher tuition, and employees continue to be paid poverty wages. Read more here.
