NLRB rules that MIT students who receive fellowships are not employees

The NLRB ruled, ridiculously, that MIT graduate students who do instructional and research work are not employees because “the compensation received by the fellows is not directly tied to
completing particular tasks, as directed; rather, it is tied to maintaining academic good standing.” What the actual f**k?
