New School adjuncts reach tentative agreement with the administration–strike over!

It appears that our comrades at the New School have won an impressive contract. Here is the initial announcement: https://www.youarethenewschool.com/bargaining-blog/tentative-agreement-reached-strike-over

We all look forward to learning the details of the agreement in the days to come. Meanwhile, let’s remember exactly what it took for the adjunct union to win these gains: three weeks of constant picketing, massive student engagement, a commitment to withhold grades if necessary, and resistance to administration’s fear mongering and scab-hiring practices from New School workers and instructors throughout the City.  Let the New School’s militancy be a lesson to us all.

CUNY workers continue to stand in solidarity with our colleagues at the New School as they move towards ratifying their contract. We also continue to support our fellow graduate student workers at the University of California who remain on strike as the finals period continues.
