The School for Professional Studies was established in 2003 to meet the educational needs of working adults, organizations, and employers. Today, the school offers a number of degrees and certificates, most of which are taught online by adjunct lecturers. Their abundance is evidence of an growing trend in higher education that disadvantages students and teachers alike. These adjuncts rarely congregate in physical space, which makes signing them up for the union a challenge (many are not even located in NYC). We will spend the evening calling adjunct fee payers at SPS in the hopes of connecting them with the Union (which they may not even know exists!). Doing so is an important step towards strengthening our chapter and the PSC at large.
