As you likely know, contract negotiations between the PSC and CUNY have been ongoing for almost two years. Now, we are approaching a critical juncture in the negotiating cycle. A tentative agreement (TA) is expected in the coming days (indeed, by the time you read this, an agreement may have been announced). But a tentative agreement does not become a contract until it is ratified by us—the PSC membership as a whole.
While we’ll cast individual votes on the TA, like any union endeavor we need to engage with it collectively. There are many questions to carefully consider: How does the TA affect ourselves and our colleagues? How does it address the priorities—including cost-of-living, remote work, promotion and reclassification, and job security—that were identified at the start of the negotiations? Is this the best possible contract we can win?
To discuss these and any other questions you may have—and lay out the ratification process—the chapter will hold a Tentative Agreement Town Hall on Wednesday, December 18th at 3pm on Zoom. REGISTER HERE.
