On Thursday, November 30, the date of the contract’s expiration between CUNY management and the Professional Staff Congress (PSC), members of the Graduate Center community are planning a Contract Kick-off Action Supporting $7K, as part of a day of rank-and-file events around CUNY. The first step is an open GC planning meeting on Tuesday, November 14. It took several years before the last contract was negotiated on August 2016 – which created further salary inequalities and kept intact job insecurity for most adjuncts – but we won’t wait so long for so little this time around! Now the PSC proclaims $7K/class minimum salary for adjuncts as its main contract demand. We’re taking this and running with it.
