Fordham faculty reach tentative agreement with the Administration

Part-time and non-tenure track faculty at Fordham University have reached a tentative agreement with the Administration! They forced management to the table by threatening to strike. Just another example of a strike or strike threat leading to bargaining gains. While the proposed contract promises substantial raises for many adjuncts, the GC’s own Olivia Wood (who is also an adjunct at Fordham) says she is not recommending the proposed agreement because it fails to achieve pay parity for adjuncts in the graduate schools of social work and religion. It is now up to Fordham faculty to vote on whether to accept this proposed contract. We at CUNY will continue to stand in solidarity with them whatever they decide, as we continue to fight for a living wage for all workers in higher education and beyond!
